How to create a custom group of customers?

Creating a customer group, follow below mentioned steps

  • Login in Magento admin panel
  • Click  on Customers and then select Customer Groups

All customer groups will be display.

For creating a new group follows below steps

  • Click on Add New Customer Group button
  • Enter new customer group name
  • Select the ‘Tax Class’ from Tax Class drop down.

Once you enter all required filled, click on Save Customer Group button. Added new customer group will be display in top of the list.

You should have to select a specific Customer Group. Admin can able to assign a customer to a particular customer group.

To assign customer group name follow below steps.

  • Login Magento Admin
  • Click on Customer Menu and Select Manage Customers

All register customers will be display here.

  • Select the checkbox for all the customer(s) which you want to assign in a group.
  • Select the check boxes beside customers, who will be assigned to a particular customer group
  • Click on Actions drop down and select the action Assign a customer group. After that select another drop down will appear listing all available customer groups.
  • Select the desired customer group then click on Submit button
  • All selected customers will be assigned to this new group.

Once all are done, customers will be assign in a new group.
