Magento providing a short URL facility for your eCommerce store. You can set short URL as per below mentioned steps.
- Login to your Magento Admin Panel.
- Click on System menu and click on the Configuration option.
Once you click on configuration option, you will see Web option under the general section from left panel. Click on that web option.
Once you click on web option, you will see different tabs for general settings. Click on Search Engines Optimization tab. Set the option Use Web Server Rewrites to Yes to enable the search engine friendly URL for your eCommerce store. If you are selecting option No, then Magento will not use search engine friendly urls.
Click on Save Config button and see in front end Magento portal url will be displayed in a search Engine Friendly mode.
